Turnagain Ceramics is thrilled to welcome Anchorage artist Kendra Harvey for an exclusive one-day workshop! Kendra will share her expertise in sgraffito and underglaze painting, guiding participants through techniques to create beautifully detailed, expressive ceramic surfaces.

In this surface design workshop, students will explore personal expression through practicing sgraffito (drawing on clay*) and underglaze painting techniques. Projects will focus on decorating tiles or vessels to combine layered imagery, texture, and color to express individual narratives or aesthetic themes.

This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of Anchorage’s talented emerging artists and gain hands-on experience in elevating your ceramic work with intricate designs and vibrant color. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced potter, you’ll leave inspired and equipped with new skills to bring your creative vision to life.

*Studio access is not required prior to this workshop. TC will Provide greenware (unfired clay tiles) for students to work on during this workshop. Those with Studio access are welcome to bring personal projects to work on. Class time includes a 30min lunch period.
